My Story
Born in France to Senegalese parents, I have always felt deeply connected to both cultures. From the age of two, I traveled to Senegal every year, strengthening my sense of identity as Franco-Senegalese. With a love for languages—I speak over five fluently—and an even greater love for food, I believe that meals are more than just sustenance; they are a way to share stories, traditions, and community.
Now based in the UK, I have embarked on a journey to build a home from scratch in Senegal—a space to reconnect with my roots and invite others to experience the warmth of Teranga. I also wrote a book, Sunpo ndo Xati (Belly Button and Milk), a reflection on heritage and the universal ties that connect us all. A copy is available in the house for guests to enjoy.
Beyond my love for hospitality, I have created a family board game and run a supper club, where I share the flavours of Franco-Senegalese cuisine. For me, life is lived through food, the Teranga way—with open hearts, shared meals, and meaningful connections.
